 Salt Maker in Parangtritis

Jogja people today probably do not even think if the ancestor in the past used to find and make salt on the south coast. In this picture we can see the atmosphere in Parangtritis, the southern coast of Yogyakarta some 100 years ago (1905-1915). A salt maker pour water on sand in his plane to obtain salt. One more beautiful face of Yogyakarta in 1913, scanned from an old postcard by my Flickr friends, Mr. Herald in Netherlands. I have searched this site and find it not far from the Presidential Palace Gedung Agung (not too far away from Malioboro area). Wait for the current situation photo from us in the next post … :)

Tempo Dulu #16 – Yogyakarta, 1913, originally uploaded by tokek belanda.

A beautiful scenery, a road shaded with trees in the middle of the city of Yogyakarta in 1913. Scanned from an old postcards. I’m thinking where it is located now in Yogyakarta, and how the face today (I’ll try to capture it) … Thanks for my Flickr friends, Mr. Herald in Netherlands.
